The short version

GrimDex is a desktop application. It runs on your machine, indexes your files locally, and your files never leave your computer. No account is required to use it.

The application

• GrimDex does not collect telemetry or analytics from inside the app.
• File indexing happens entirely on your device; we never see your files or file names.
• The app may contact our server only to check for software updates and to validate a license key at activation. These requests carry no personal data beyond what is technically necessary (the license key and version information).

Purchases

Checkout is operated by Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle collects and processes the billing information (name, email, payment details, country) needed to complete the sale and comply with tax law, under Paddle's privacy policy. From Paddle we receive only your email address and order details, which we need to deliver your license key and help you if something goes wrong.

This site uses cookie-free aggregate analytics that count page views and nothing else. There are no ad trackers here.

If you write to support@grimdex.dev, we keep the correspondence to help you. We don't run newsletters without explicit opt-in.

Your rights

You may request access to or deletion of the personal data we hold (practically: your email, order reference, and support history) at any time via support@grimdex.dev. We comply with the Brazilian LGPD and, where applicable, the GDPR.
