Install or run portable
Run the Windows executable directly for portable use, or choose Install on the first-run screen for a per-user installation. The normal window does not require administrator rights.

Find the right guide
Start with the task in front of you. Every guide is written for the moment you need it.
Search the whole computer
Press Ctrl+P for the whole-disk file palette. Use ext:rs;toml, file:report, folder:projects, path:archive, or size:>100mb to narrow the result.
Shape your workspace
Use tabs, split panes, keyboard navigation, drag and drop, and Windows shell menus on real files. Bookmark the folders you return to and save a profile for the layout you use most.
Trial and activation
The public build includes a full 14-day trial. After purchase, copy the license key from the delivery email, then open the license screen and choose Activate.
Updates and recovery
Use Check for Updates from the command palette. If a replacement cannot complete, GrimDex reports the result on the next launch.
