1.0.15 · October 2026 — Calmer deletes, search that starts where you live
This round is about the everyday moments: removing files, finding them, opening another window.
- Deleting says what it does. The confirmation names what moves and how to get it back (Recycle Bin or Ctrl+Z). A permanent delete is marked as one, and Shift+Delete, the shortcut Explorer users reach for, deletes permanently after a confirmation.
- Search starts with your own folders. Searching the whole machine now covers files and folders, and your own folders rank above tool and cache folders. The WSL scope appears only when WSL is there.
- New windows, your way. A new window opens the current folder. A new setting, “New windows open at Home”, makes it open Home instead, like Windows does.
- Details keeps its columns. In a narrow window the Type, Date and Size columns now narrow instead of disappearing together.
- Mouse-first paths. New Folder is in the app menu, so a folder can be created by mouse in any view. Files copied in Windows Explorer paste into GrimDex.
- Steadier resizing. Holding a window edge without moving shows the exact frame instead of a stretched earlier one.
- Small things that add up. Shortcut hints are no longer cut off, and transfers show themed progress dialogs.
